1tablespooncoconut oil (optional, for smooth melting of topping chocolate)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth and homogeneous.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, whisking until fully combined.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the 1 cup of chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and evenly spread it out.
Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
While the brownies are baking, prepare the chocolate topping. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Once the brownies are done, let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, lift them out using the parchment paper and transfer to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, spread the melted chocolate over the top of the brownies.
Arrange the sliced fresh strawberries on top of the melted chocolate, pressing them slightly into the chocolate to secure.
Allow the chocolate topping to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 30 minutes for a quicker set.
Cut the brownies into squares and serve. Enjoy your decadent treat!
Notes
