Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
On a large baking sheet, spread the trimmed asparagus in a single layer.
Drizzle the lemon garlic mixture over the asparagus, and use your hands to toss the asparagus until it's evenly coated.
Arrange the asparagus in a single layer once more for even roasting.
Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy at the edges.
Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle with fresh parmesan cheese while the asparagus is still hot for a delightful cheesy finish.
Serve warm as a side dish or over your favorite grain for a light meal.
